Been a window washer, a graphic designer, a kayak guide, a university instructor, a guy who painted murals and made pizzas for this weird children's birthday party place that was kinda like Discovery Zone, a terrible furniture salesman, a wedding photographer, and a touring musician. Been a lot of vocational nouns, really. But through all of that, I've always been a writer and a maker.

Stories are important to me. I like telling them, hearing them, stealing them, creating them. I like the puzzle of storytelling. The problem solving. I like being handed a bunch of seemingly disparate shards of information and crafting that mess into something elegant. Something simple and precise and artful. I like getting thrown into a too-small room with a bunch of people smarter than me and, together, figuring out how to tell a story in a way that none of us could've figured out on our own. And watching a good idea get bounced around that too-small room until it becomes a great idea—well I just love that.
